Beer Making Supplies – Home Brew Equipment

When you start making beer you will need several beer making supplies to get started.  You will need beer bottles, boiling pots, home brew ingredients, cleaning supplies to keep your equipment sterile, and several other tools.

Many of your home brew equipment items can be found right in your own house but some you will need to go out and buy.  You will need a boiling pot that is at lease 3 gallons.  I would recommend a pot that is aluminum or stainless steel to make sure that the pot does not give off any flavors.

You will need to buy malt extract, brewers yeast and of course you will need water.  Since beer is almost all water, I recommend that you use spring water instead of tap water.  Yeast is a key homebrew supply to have as it is what ferments the malts and the sugars into the alcohol, which in turn will release the carbon dioxide.

Several of the other beer making supplies that you will need to start making beer are a fermenter (6 gallon) , fermentation lock, a bottle filler, siphon, thermometer, plastic tubing (racking cane), bottle brush, stirring paddle, a bottle capper and caps.  I will not go into great detail about these items because most people will just go to a local homebrew supply store and buy these items as part of a beer making kit.  You can also search online for

Another key to keep in mind is that your beer making supplies and home brew equipment needs to be sterile for safety reasons.   This is very important because you do not want to take any chances on the beer becoming tainted and someone getting sick from your invention.

I would advise you to take a trip to your local home brew supply store and you will be able to get ahold of most of the home brew equipment and homebrew supplies that you will need.  If your town does not have one then search online and you will easily find the beer making supplies that you need.
